Brittany L. Higdon, M.Ed., Ed.S. founded Higdon Literacy Solutions in 2021 due to her experience in the classroom. She came to the realization that many aspects of modern education are extremely problematic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, when parents become heavily involved in their children’s education, many parents learned that the education their children were receiving was watered down at best; explicit indoctrination at worst.

We are all Masters of Education (M.Ed), so we know how to spot potential learning issues. We also know how to implement the extremely-important phonological awareness instruction, know all about reading levels and can teach writing like champs.
Unlike mainstream M.Ed.s, however, we know that there is great value in tradition and that there are some amazing works of literature that have stood the test of time for a reason. We love sharing wonderful works of literature with our students. Writing instruction involves an age-appropriate Socratic-style discussion that the student is to reflect on. We encourage students to not only know how to formulate their thoughts verbally but also in writing.
